I read this play to prep for an audition and wasn’t expecting to love it as much as I did – it is now one of my favourite plays of all time! Clever, entertaining, suspenseful, and thrilling. I highly recommend it! Love, Jules ❤

Book Review: One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston
Second book review I’ve posted here, and I’ve gotta say, I LOVED this book. I mean, I love everything Casey McQuiston’s ever written, but still. Review: What can I even say about this book? It wrecked me, devastated me, and put me back together again. Yes, I’m dramatic, don’t mind it. This book was relatableContinue reading “Book Review: One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston”
Book Review: Aristotle and Dante Dive Into the Waters of the World by Benjamin Alire Sáenz
It’s been a while since I posted, (more in-depth life update to come soon!) but for now I thought I would share a book review I did a little while ago. Despite my blog being largely writing-focused, I’ve realized I’ve never shared one of my reviews on here before! (More to come!) So here itContinue reading “Book Review: Aristotle and Dante Dive Into the Waters of the World by Benjamin Alire Sáenz”
In an Ideal World
I actually wrote this a while ago, as an exercise for my previous life coach, but I’ve recently been feeling a pretty significant loss of identity – no longer feeling clear on my values or beliefs or what kind of person I want to be (call it a quarter-life crisis) – so I decided toContinue reading “In an Ideal World”
New Year, Old Goals
Trigger Warning: for discussion of suicidal thoughts, self-harm, and mental health in this post. It’s that time of year again when resolutions are creeping round the corner. I don’t really make New Year’s resolutions because I find that I never stick to them, and then I just end up feeling like a failure – a feelingContinue reading “New Year, Old Goals”

I finished a book!
I have a personal triumph to share today, one that’s been in the making for many months! For some time now, I’ve been compiling all of my poetry into a book – well – a word document for now, with the eventual aim of being a book. My goal, for no particular reason, was toContinue reading “I finished a book!”
Theatre, I missed you
So, I had my first in-person audition today since the start of the pandemic and let me just say, it was AMAZING. I loved every minute of it. From stepping inside the auditorium to stepping onto the stage, the whole experience was as surreal as it was wonderful. I don’t think I realized how muchContinue reading “Theatre, I missed you”

Dear past self
By: Jules Sherwood Dear past self, I know you love that tree,But I wish I could tell you not to name it. I know you think you’re being clever,But I wish I could tell you not to try so hard. I know you want a puppy more than anything,But I wish I could tell you you’re not ready. IContinue reading “Dear past self”
